A first survey of existing tools and methods supporting evaluation of indicators for urban district retrofitting and renewal has been published in August 2014.

The main objectives of the deliverable are: (1) to identify sustainability aspects/issues based on pre-standardised metrics for sustainable buildings, such as “Open House” and “Superbuildings”; (2) to provide an exhaustive review of existing support tools assessing key issues for sustainability performance of economic, environmental and social qualities for district retrofitting and renewal, and (3) to elaborate a set-up of general criteria for decision support tools, such as transparency and ease of use, possibility to adjust parameters to suit regional conditions such as energy prices, interest rates, regulations, source of energy and possible rebound effects. Further steps will be provided in Deliverable 3.2, in which an evaluation of these tools will be assessed and further developed.
