Ivo Martinac is Professor and Chair at the Division of Building Service and Energy Systems at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and Visiting Professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University (Xi’an), and Dalian University of Technology (Dalian), PR China.
With a background in energy and building service engineering, he has over 25 years’ experience in areas including indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency and energy quality management in the built environment, as well as resource-efficient community and urban development.
Ivo has lead/participated in international academic/industrial projects in Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, the European Union, the Middle-East, South Africa, South-East Asia and the USA. He serves on a number of national and international boards and committees.
His current research focuses on energy service and system development for building clusters and urban districts, integrated building performance assessment, high-performance buildings and sustainable urban development.
He is a Fellow of the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Associations (REHVA), and member of several national and international professional organizations.
Ivo is keenly devoted to pursuing the goals of sustainable development in close collaboration between the public and the private sectors. His motto: Sustainability is profitable!
