Ecodistr-ICT Integrated Decision Support System platform
Ecodistr-ICT’s Integrated Decision Support System (IDSS) is a modular, open source software platform to support decision-making processes for district renovation.
The platform allows bringing together multiple stakeholders in a single online environment in order to overcome the current fragmentation, and thus reach a jointly supported vision for the district. It provides trustworthy insights on costs and benefits of various design alternatives, taking into account the entire life cycle of the buildings, as well as environmental and social impacts at district level. The platform operates on different scales and can process data both on district and building level. Using its crowd-sourcing feature, local inhabitants can be engaged to gather data of their district.
The Ecodistr-ICT integrated decision support system is a cloud based software which can be accessed through any modern internet browser. An expert user – the facilitator – has several tools at hers or his disposal to support the work, including a map based editor to create new scenarios for the district, visualization tools to display the key performance indicators on a dashboard or a map, and data management tools. The effect of applying measures in a district can be analysed in calculation modules. Multiple tools have been implemented, including software for energy calculations, assessment of green values and financial analysis.
The Ecodistr-ICT communication hub allows the modules to interchange data, and thus enables a true interdisciplinary assessment. Thanks to its modular nature, additional features and components can be added to respond to the specific issues and characteristics of the district. This can even encompass Excel based tools which are often used at local administrations.

Guidelines and useful information
Here you can find useful guidelines on how the calculation and supporting modules included in the Ecodistr-ICT IDSS platform operates. The guidelines state the basic methodology behind the modules and what the outcome (Key Performance Indicators) are. The supporting modules have web interfaces and the guidelines therefore include step by step instructions explaining the functionalities of these applications. The wiki format was chosen so that feedback from users can be given. Additional information and guidelines for future modules can also be posted by users as sub-wikis (after approval from administrators).
